HISTORY OF CASEY MOVING SYSTEMS

Casey Moving Systems is a sole proprietorship owned by James E. Casey of Ceres, California. We have offices in Ceres, Stockton and Atwater, California.

In 1975, Jim and Kathy purchased Turlock Van and Storage; Turlock Van and Storage was then an agent for Global Van Lines. Two years later they made the decision to affiliate themselves with United Van Lines, a fast growing, well-managed organization based in Fenton, Missouri. As Turlock Van and Storage began to grow, Jim and Kathy purchased another United agency in Stockton, CA in 1987. In May of 1994, the Casey’s purchased a five acre office and warehouse parcel from another agent in Atwater to service that marketplace. It was at this time that they changed their name to Casey Moving Systems.

In 1995, they purchased the two acre parcel in Ceres which was the headquarters for the company. In 1996 they purchased a second company, Dawson Van & Storage (a Mayflower Agency), and location in Stockton. In 2006 Casey Moving relocated its headquarters to a larger office and warehouse in Ceres, CA. The larger space allows for additional storage, records storage, shredding, and other types of warehousing.

The Casey Family has also done some diversifying over the years in anticipation of a changing market place. In 1992 they computerized their record storage business, storing confidential material for local businesses and delivering this material as requested. This service allows customer for off-site storage with on-site control, which is especially needed when space is limited for most offices.

Because of the growth of the record storage division of the company, a document shredding business was started. This endeavor has provided our customers off-site document shredding rather than relying on out-of-the-area vendors. The record storage and document shredding business has become a major portion of Casey Moving Systems’ overall business.

The warehouse purchases and addition of new services lead Casey Moving down the road to becoming a “Total Transportation Company” intended to meet all customers’ transportation needs.

With motivated employees and dedicated owner-operators, Casey Moving Systems has been the recipient of numerous industry awards including:

  • United Van Line’s Agent of the Month Recognition
  • Various Drivers of the Month Awards
  • Numerous Safety Awards
  • Sales Achievement Awards—such as Master’s Club and Heart of Quality Awards
  • 2012 Heart of Quality

Casey Moving Systems is also proud to be an active member of California Moving and Storage Association. In 1999, Jim Casey was elected to be the chairman of the California Moving and Storage Association (CMSA).
